Nicola Wallis is a London based artist originally form Darlington. In 2012 Nicola completed a Master's in Fine Art at the Slade School of art UCL with a bursasry from the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
Since leaving the Slade Nicola has continued to exhibit in group shows within the UK, whilst continuing to work in a variety of projects in a wide range of mediums.
Wallis Studio also creates limited linocut cards with designs that are naïve and playful, which, are individually printed by hand to make sure they have rich vivid colours that mass commercially printed cards lack. Any hand printed imperfections add to the design and originality of each card.
Illustrating the alphabet is one of Nicola's biggest projects to date taking over one thousand hours to complete using fine-line pigment ink. These hand-drawn illustrations are combined with exotic imagery to create contemporary and dramatic designs which are digitally printed on luxurious fabrics, including rich velvets and satins, to produce a unique range of soft furnishings and furniture.
